2024 Easter Egg Hunt a Resounding Success!

Bunnies and Friends thank you for sharing your time and gifts to make our 33rd Annual Easter Egg hunt a success.

We had 60 participants with a host of current and new volunteers and guests.  This year we hosted our regular hunts – one for the sighted children and one for the non-sighted children. Everyone had an opportunity to construct their own basket and we hosted a “Golden Egg”  hunt.  Twelve golden eggs with information in braille were hidden.  The lucky hunters were given a prize!  We discovered that 12 golden eggs were not enough!  We would like to give special thanks to our sister chapter,  Blue Spruce – we had an over abundance of candy filled eggs.

This year the Colorado Center for the Blind provided “talking signs” that provided direction and guidance to our participants for the hunt.  Talking signs are individuals who assist our participants by providing direction and information during the event.  This encourages the independence of the children and allows parents to network and participate!

The weather was amazing, the lunch sponsored and served by the students from the Colorado Center for the Blind and the use of the facilities all played a big part in making this event a success!!

My personal sincere and heartfelt thanks to my Auraria team for their gallant effort and for making this possible!! —Michelle W.
