Legacy West Pioneers

Joe Cleres and Don Sage Memorial Scholarship

Supporting Legacy West Pioneers Means Supporting Your Community

The Joe Cleres and Don Sage Memorial Scholarship is named in honor of two Pioneers members who championed education and financial assistance for physically and intellectually challenged students.

The scholarship is sponsored by New Outlook Chapters – formerly the Western Electric division of the Bell System.

Purpose

Provide financial assistance to post-secondary school students with physical and/or intellectual challenges. This scholarship is for students who will be pursuing an education where tuition is required. The award will be sent directly to the school, so winners will need to provide information including the contact information for their financial office.

Application Considerations

The application may be submitted either by the student or by someone on their behalf. Each scholarship award is solely for education expenses, and is paid directly to the school that the applicant will attend during the traditional school year (September – August classes). You will be able to complete the .pdf version of this application electronically using Adobe Acrobat DC, or print out a paper copy and manually enter the information. When completing electronically, each line must be entered separately as text does not wrap to the next line. After completing this form and supporting documentation, submit documents by email to the address at the bottom of the application. If submitting electronically, please make the file name your last name. Applicants must be qualified residents of the U.S.

The 2025/2026 application period is now closed!
