Book Donations Help Make Readers For Life
Six clubs/councils participated in our 2021 Readers For Life project. Covid-19 slowed us down a bit, but we were able to deliver 1,400 brand new children’s books to five elementary schools. The books are given to kids that need a little extra help with reading, and they get to keep the book. Sometimes it’s the first book they’ve ever called their own. These are fun books that support our goal of fostering a love of reading that makes kids “Readers For Life”.
As soon as the snow stops falling on Snoqualmie Pass, an additional 700 books will be delivered to schools in Yakima. Special note – some of the books are bi-lingual Spanish/English books. These books really help the kids in ESL programs. Thank-you to all the volunteers and those whose monetary donations made this project possible!
